Acne is a common skin condition that occurs when hair follicles become clogged with oil and dead skin cells. It can manifest as pimples, blackheads, white heads and cysts.

Causes:
- Hormonal changes (especially during pubert, menstraution, and pregnancy)
- Over production of sebum (oil) by sebaceous glands
- Clogged hair follicles due to dead skin cells
- Bacterial infection by propionibacterium acnes
- Diet
Sypmtoms:
- Pimples with whiteheads or blackheads
- Redness and inflammation around pimples
- pustules (pus-filled pimples)
- Cysts (deep, painful lesions)
- Scars if not treated
